Overview of the Teaching Fellows Application Process

 

Estimated time of completion for written application: 1 Hour

Total estimated time of application period: 3 weeks

 

Please note: Different cities have different recruitment coordinators, if you have a question of who to speak to, please reach out to mitf@masaisrael.org.

 

Step 1: Main Application - Written Application:

Recommendation: Complete this application as soon as possible as you can only complete Step 2 (The Interview) once you submit your written app. Your space in your city of choice will only be secured with an acceptance to the program + payment of $300 deposit. 


 

Step 2: Video Interview: 

Once your written application has been accepted, you will complete a video interview for the city you are applying to. You must have your written application submitted in order to complete a video interview. You will schedule the interview via a link sent to you from the city recruiter.

PLEASE ONLY SCHEDULE AN INTERVIEW FOR ONE CITY

 

Step 3: Supplemental documents:

Supplemental documents only required to be completed AFTER the interview. You will receive a link to upload all documents from your city’s recruiter:

1.      Background check (Each country has a different background check requirement, please check in with your recruitment coordinator for more information)Must be Government or FBI background check, 3rd party checks will not be accepted

2.      Medical Form + Recommendation filled out by doctor/PCP

3.      Mental Health form from Mental Health professional(s) seen by the applicant (Each professional that works in relation to your mental health must fill out a form)


 

Step 4: Review and Processing Application

Once all of the above has been submitted properly to your city’s recruiter, it will be reviewed by the review committee + Ministry of Education in its entirety. You will receive an answer from your recruiter on your acceptance status.

By submitting this application, I agree that I am applying to Masa Israel Teaching Fellows. I will submit all additional required documents. I understand that my application is not considered complete until the letter(s) from relevant mental health professionals are submitted to Masa. Should I be chosen to participate in any of the Masa Israel Teaching Fellow programs (MITF or Teach For a Semester) and should I accept my offer, I will submit a non-refundable deposit that will be applied to the program cost of $1400 for 10-months or $1000 for 6-months that will be applied to the cost of Masa Israel Teaching Fellows accordingly. If I am Masa alumni, I am aware that I am not eligible for the Masa grant, and will receive only the funding from the Ministry of Education. I understand that I am responsible for arranging my own transportation to and from Israel and understand that I am eligible for up to $1000 "program completion" grant after successful completion of the program. Should I terminate my participation in Masa Israel Teaching Fellows early, I understand that my travel costs will not be eligible for the program completion grant. I understand that the health insurance provided will not cover preconditions. I agree that interviews, calls, or discussions with me regarding the program will be recorded for quality purposes. I also agree that any quotes or pictures from my application may be used by the Masa Israel marketing team in promotional materials.
